Status at ASU: Visiting scientist
Time period at ASU: 1992

My family and myself

During his 1992 sabbatical, Bert organized material for a proposed student text based on Wells' Structural Inorganic Chemistry. He returned to his home university, U. of Connecticut, and began the writing phase, which lasted through 1994. The student text contains 11 chapters with many tables and figures and the review process took more than a year. The text is presently in limbo. In the meantime, Bert retired from U. Conn and moved to Arizona. His youngest daughter, Laura, was married in CT in 1994, and his second daughter, Michelle, was married in 1995 (in AZ). As an Emeritus Prof. of U. Conn, Bert became an Adjunct Prof. in the Chemistry Dept. at ASU, where he spends three days a week conducting Solid State Chemistry research in collaboration with Prof. M. O'Keeffe.
