I am still -- 20 years later -- in microscopy. I spent 10 years at Digital Equipment Corp and now 10 years at Intel Corporation analyzing materials for IC development.
Professional activities, current and past
Still having fun on the TEM. I am manager of a lab of 9 microscopists with 4 TEMs.
My biggest adventure was travelling to Siberia in 2005 to bring home Benjamin from a Russian orphanage. Altho he was malnourished, didn't walk or talk at age 2, couldn't sleep if someone was touching him (not used to touch) and didn't know his own name (no one spoke specifically to him), he is now healthy, very athletic and rarely pauses talking. He adores big brother Tom (10 years older) and is a joyful loving addition to our family. Wish I had the energy to empty out that orphanage and bring them all home.
