My family and myself
Peter, a physicist and electron microscopist by training, has used the knowledge of mineralogy he gained at ASU to study soil minerals. In his current position (started November 1996 after many years with CSIRO) as Research Associate at the Ian Wark Research Institute at the University of South Australia in Adelaide, he is researching the surface properties of kaolinite (coaters and fillers) and rutile-based pigments. He still enjoys a game of squash (he was pretty tough at racquetball while at ASU) “although my knees tell me I am too old for that game.” Peter is married to Jane Simpson. Their children are Jenna, born in Tempe in 1984 and about to start secondary school at Urrbrae agricultural high school, and Graham, born in Adelaide in 1986, who wants to be a cartoonist.
